The Pacuare River Forest Reserve protects the forests of the Atlantic area. It also has a great tourism and hydrological development due to the adventure sports that can be carried out on the Pacuare River (like rafting).
It is divided into four zones of life: premontane rainforest, very humid forest premontane transition to basal, very humid tropical forest, very humid tropical forest transition to premontane.
The Pacuare Forest Reserve is the ancestral home of important Costa Rican indigenous communities.
Its irregular topography is represented by high, fast rocks and waterfalls surrounded by a dense jungle of evergreen.
It is considered as the most beautiful river in our country and world-wide, as one of the best to practice the White Water Rafting; it possesses the great scenarios with waterfalls, trails and great diversity of flora and fauna.
